Cannabis is “in” these days- more than anyone has ever thought about. With the legalization of cannabis, cannasseurs are more active in finding novel ways of ingesting cannabis. The primary way is to include it in meals.
As it is easier for folks to get cannabis, its incorporation has increased in households. All one needs to clear is 420 Evaluations Moreno Valley and he or she will be able to get their choice of cannabis strain.
With that mind, a Netflix original- Cooked with Cannabis stars Kelis (a singer) and Leather Storrs (Portland’s chef and weed expert). This cooking competition has contestants going against each other to make the best three-course cannabis-infused meal.
It is an attempt by Netflix to make fun cannabis-infused dinner parties exciting. However, the best part of this culinary competition is how the contestants use different cannabis strains to make their dishes. Honestly, they all look mouth-watering.
Here are some of my favorite dishes from the show.
Grilled Sweet Corn Gazpacho & halibut Ceviche with Mimosa
The point of this cooking competition show is to take cooking to the next level with enhanced edible experiences. It really shows how usual meals can feel like a five-star meal. But, the most interesting part was the inclusion of weed- Mimosa.
Mimosa cannabis strain has a little citrusy touch that is responsible for uplifting your mood and making you euphoric. However, the show describes it as an ‘energetic head high’.
Grilled Sweet Corn Gazpacho and halibut ceviche were cooked by Chef Amanda Jackson. She was able to infuse the dish with about 3 mg of THC and transferred its chemical properties into the dish. She used THC olive oil with sweet corn gazpacho, grilled veggies and mimosa smoked halibut ceviche.
Black BBQ Surf & Turf with Wedding Cake
The probable reason why Wedding Cake made its way into this show is maybe that it was shot in LA. Even though the contestants had a diverse cabinet to choose cannabis strain from, Chef Harold Sims went for Wedding Cake.
This strain is sweet and has an earthy aroma packing a good punch. The chef believed this strain to be a perfect accompaniment to a West African-inspired Black BBQ Surf & Turf.
The dish has a ribeye infused with Wedding Cake ghee, a charred vegetable Black BBBQ Sauce, charred octopus, and chickpea akara. This dish contains about 2 mg of THC giving judges a little high.
Smoked Lamb Chop & Couscous with Watermelon Sangria
Another strain that was the star of the show was- Watermelon Sangria. Even though it is not very well known, Chef Derek Upton considered this strain to work wonders for him. And, according to me, it did!
The dish had cannabis smoked Lamb Chop based in Watermelon Sangria infused butter, couscous, and cannabis leaf-smoked paprika with caramel. Overall, the dish contained about 2 mg of THC content.
Five Cheese Macaroni with Blue Dream
Talking about cannabis-infused meals, and it is impossible to leave out the Blue Dream. It is almost really like a rule to include this in a dish at least!
A Sativa dominant in California is a cross between Santa Cruz Haxe and Blueberry. It has a sweet blueberry flavor which gives a euphoric and uplifting feeling.
Chef Matthew Chase chose this strain to infuse with his five-cheese macaroni with cauliflower, Blue Dream-infused butter, five-cheese macaroni, and an apple garnish. Overall, this dish had about 5 mg of THC content, which was more than any other dish with a THC content between 2- 3mg. I think this dish is perfect for those who want to feel something after a full stomach from their weed dish!
Salvadoran Short Rib Pupusas with Sour Diesel
Dealing with cannabis, do not forget that CBD is a great part of it too! As most of the chefs cooked dishes representing their origins, heritage, and culture, one of the chefs took a different turn.
Chef Manny Mandoza’s Salvadoran Short Rib Pupusas has topped with Sour Diesel and Lemon Kush-infused pineapple and chipotle salsa and included a CBD-infused Chili Oil with pickled cabbage. Overall, this dish had about 2 mg of THC and 10 mg of CBD. Moreover, the chef also added a plate of handmade cannabis chilaquiles.
Out of all the chefs in the show, Chef Mendoza really had the judges impressed with impressive three-course cannabis-infused dinner.
Watch Cooked with Cannabis today on Netflix! Check out all the crazy dishes they cook and let me know which was your favorite dish!
